This regional driving job operates in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.


Drivers only need 6 months experience and must live within 65 miles of Florence KY

Flexibility will be the key to success.  Therefore, any week the driver makes less than Minimum Pay, his/her pay will be bumped to the Minimum Pay guarantee. 

  • Weekly Minimum Pay- 5 day work week – $1,300, 6 day work week – $1,350 (standard week), 7 day work week – $1,400 (7 days woul be very rare)
    • Also, if a driver tarped, the $50 tarp pay would be on top of guarantee.
  • To receive the Minimum Pay, the driver must have been available to work the whole work week starting Sunday if needed and driver MUST be willing to help other accounts in the area when Firestone freight is slow. Any refusal of account specific work or region support work will VOID the pay guarantee.

Time Off / Shift:

  • Will work S-F – Drive Sunday to setup for Monday delivery.  Leave out time depends on distance to the appt, delivery time, and where the drivers next load is delivering to.  Some days will require earlier leave out depending on time of delivery and miles to destination
  • No guaranteed home time during the week
  • Drivers are typically home Friday afternoon and depart Sunday afternoon – 34 hour reset guaranteed

Position details:

  • Outbound ISO Board Flatbed Loads require application of edge protectors and throwing 12-14 straps.  Approx 1 load per day depending on length of haul and if there is a backhaul.
  • Loads leave from Florence, KY and drivers will return to Florence, KY for next outbound load – Primarily making deliveries to new construction sites
  • Driver will have backhauls. Mandatory tarping/3rd party backhauls when needed. Tarping is not frequent

Special requirements:                                                                                                                                 

  • Flatbed Account – Account will train
  • Loads are live loaded at the customers facility and then live unloaded at delivery. Driver must strap and unstrap the loads.  Approx 12-14 straps per load.  4-5 loads per week
  • Driver will have 90 days to obtain Hazmat and will be reimbursed by the account



Moving Violations

  • No more than 3 in the last 3 years

Policy on License suspensions

  • No more than 30 days in the last 3 years for moving violation
  • No more than 12 months in the last 3 years for non-moving violation
  • Must have a valid license for 2 out of last 3 years

DOT Recordable Accidents

  • No more than 3 minor accidents/incidents in the past 3 years
  • No more than 1 highway accident in the past year
  • No major preventable in the last 3 years

* Major Preventable Accident Definition – Damage totaling $25,000 or more

Ticket / Accident / Incident Combo

  • No more than 3 accidents and/or tickets
  • No more than one preventable with less than 12 months of experience

Major Moving Violations- that are automatic DQ’s

  • No careless or reckless driving convictions in the last 3 years
  • No rear end or roll over accidents in the last 3 years

Policy Against Unemployment- even if it is accounted for

  • No more than 22 months of unemployment in the last 3 years

Felony Convictions

  • All criminal convictions are reviewed on an individual basis as part of an overall review of the file.
  • Felony drug charges must be outside of 7 years

  • No more than 1 and it must be outside of 5 years old
  • If Driver has 2 DUI’s, they will be considered if both are prior to 2002
  • Drivers with a DUI/DWI in a CMV may be considered for employment with appropriate SAP paperwork.
