With this regional driving position, drivers will operate within the states of North Carolina, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin and Illinois 

Drivers only need 6 months experience and live within 85 miles of Youngstown OH.

PAY

  • Weekly avg $1,480
  • Yearly avg $80,000
    • Performance Bonus:  Drivers will have an opportunity to earn an additional $750/quarter ($3000 annually) – Bonus criteria
    1. Perfect trip (100% accuracy on cases delivered for each delivery and no damages)
    2. 90% scanning compliance on their route for the week
  • Top earner pay $85,000 –  Top drivers perform more stops.  In addition, the more willing the driver is to help other accounts, the higher the pay
  • Training: $250/day for 2 to 4 weeks – Training time will depend on the skill set of the driver and how quickly he/she catches on

TIME OFF / SHIFT

  • Drivers will work Monday – Friday with Saturday/Sunday off
  • Start time on Monday is normally 0400-0600 – Daytime driving
  • Drivers will work 12 – 14 hour shifts
  • Driver PTO:  Immediately (1.5 hours per week), 6th Anniversary (2.3hours per week), 19th Anniversary (3 hours per week)

POSITION DETAILS

  • Deliveries are made during the hours of 0600-2100
  • Grocery Products – Foods, Dry Foods, Frozen Foods, Produce, Paper/Plastic products
  • Food & restaurant supply deliveries
  • This is a delivery position with strong focus on customer service.  Drivers build relationships with the customers
  • Consistent Route allows for the relationships to be built with the customer
  • Loads are 100% preloaded.
  • 100% driver unload
  • Physically demanding job with constant bending and lifting

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Driver will unload the trailer with a 2 wheel dolly or manual pallet jack, the trailers have ramps. Can typically take about 30 minutes per stop with several trips up and down the ramp
  • Unload trailer and put all items in their designated area – Rotating freezer stock
  • Drivers are responsible for scanning product off the truck
  • Deliveries go to stand alone restaurants, shopping centers, malls – these areas are tight backing spaces
  • Drivers will also have accounts that are Cash On Delivery – Driver will collect cash in some instances

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Automatics
  • Maintain good relationships with all food service customers, warehouse personnel, drivers, office personnel, and guests
  • Dress in a clean and professional manner, uniforms available.
  • Gloves, steel toe boots required (drivers will be reimbursed)
  • Trucks must remain at the account during time off
  • No riders permitted
  • Sleeper tractors
  • Refrigerated dual zone trailers (cold and frozen sections)
  • Operating states: Connecticut Massachusetts, North Carolina, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois
  • Drivers do not go into the boroughs of NYC. However, they do go to Long Island and northern New Jersey

Qualifications

 

Moving Violations

  • No more than 3 in the last 3 years

* Based on the offense date

Policy on License suspensions

  • No more than 30 days in the last 3 years for moving violation
  • No more than 12 months in the last 3 years for non-moving violation
  • Must have a valid license for 2 out of last 3 years

DOT Recordable Accidents

  • No more than 3 minor accidents/incidents in the past 3 years
  • No more than 1 highway accident in the past year
  • No major preventable in the last 3 years

* Major Preventable Accident Definition – Damage totaling $25,000 or more

Ticket / Accident / Incident Combo

  • No more than 3 accidents and/or tickets
  • No more than one preventable with less than 12 months of experience

Major Moving Violations- that are automatic DQ’s

  • No careless or reckless driving convictions in the last 3 years
  • No rear end or roll over accidents in the last 3 years

Policy Against Unemployment- even if it is accounted for

  • No more than 22 months of unemployment in the last 3 years

Felony Convictions

  • All criminal convictions are reviewed on an individual basis as part of an overall review of the file.
  • Felony drug charges must be outside of 7 years

Misdemeanors

  •  All criminal convictions are reviewed on an individual basis as part of an overall review of the file.

DUI/DWI

  • No more than 1 and it must be outside of 5 years old
  • If Driver has 2 DUI’s, they will be considered if both are prior to 2002
  • Drivers with a DUI/DWI in a CMV may be considered for employment with appropriate SAP paperwork.

  • Must have 1 year of safe Driving since completing an SAP program
