Drivers must live within 45 miles of Chicago IL and have a minimum of 6 months verifiable experience.
This local Intermodal trucking job features:

Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
Home Time: 4 days on, 3 days off
Residence Area: Must live within 45 miles of CHICAGO, IL
Time off / Shift:
- 4 day work week – Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday( days off are Tue/Wed/Thur).
- They will work a 12 – 14 hour shift. Minimum of 48 hour work week expected
- Shift start times – 9:30 am – 2:30 pm
- Need to be flexible to any start time listed
Position details:
- They cannot have an Automatic Restriction on their license. Must be able to drive a manual transmission.
- Driver will report to Chicago terminal daily for dispatch and truck assignment.
- They will Primarily be assigned loads to shuttle between BNSF, NS and CSX rail ramps. But we do service other ramps as well.
- 65 % drop and hook.
- Besides moving containers between ramps, the will run a 200 or so mile radius of Chicago – as far N as Milwaukee and SW WI area, and up to Indianapolis and Grand Rapids) Fair mix of long haul one day, and shorter local mileage the next. All run in a day cab and return to the terminal at the end of their shift.
- There are some Local runs available where drivers run to Indianapolis and back every day & then fill in with local work
Special requirements:
- Hazmat required within 60 days of being hired – cost will be reimbursed.
PTO:
- Drivers receive 18 paid days off (12 PTO days and 6 holidays at a rate of $15 per hr for 8 hrs = $120)
- After 1st year, drivers receive 22 paid days off (16 PTO days 6 holidays at a rate of their 52 week $/hour work average)
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a heavy or tractor-trailer truck
- Load and unload cargo
- Properly track and document activity log
- Report any issues or incidents to dispatch
- Inspect truck before and after trip
Additional information:
- Truck will remain at the yard during time off.
- Passengers are not permitted.
- Drivers WILL slipseat

Qualifications
Moving Violations
- No more than 3 in the last 3 years
* Based on the offense date
Policy on License suspensions
- No more than 30 days in the last 3 years for moving violation
- No more than 12 months in the last 3 years for non-moving violation
- Must have a valid license for 2 out of last 3 years
DOT Recordable Accidents
- No more than 3 minor accidents/incidents in the past 3 years
- No more than 1 highway accident in the past year
- No major preventable in the last 3 years
* Major Preventable Accident Definition – Damage totaling $25,000 or more
Ticket / Accident / Incident Combo
- No more than 3 accidents and/or tickets
- No more than one preventable with less than 12 months of experience
Major Moving Violations- that are automatic DQ’s
- No careless or reckless driving convictions in the last 3 years
- No rear end or roll over accidents in the last 3 years

Policy Against Unemployment- even if it is accounted for
- No more than 22 months of unemployment in the last 3 years
Felony Convictions
- All criminal convictions are reviewed on an individual basis as part of an overall review of the file.
- Felony drug charges must be outside of 7 years
Misdemeanors
- All criminal convictions are reviewed on an individual basis as part of an overall review of the file.
DUI/DWI
- No more than 1 and it must be outside of 5 years old
- If Driver has 2 DUI’s, they will be considered if both are prior to 2002
- Drivers with a DUI/DWI in a CMV may be considered for employment with appropriate SAP paperwork.
